- Abstract
This study combines questionnaire surveys and experimental research methods to conduct an empirical study on the cross-cultural competence and English learning outcomes of 300 college students. Data analysis shows a significant positive correlation between cross-cultural competence and English performance (r = 0.782, p < 0.001), with the most notable impact on listening and speaking skills. After adopting cross-cultural teaching methods, the experimental group’s overall English proficiency increased by an average of 23.5%, significantly higher than that of the traditional teaching group. This research established a multiple regression model to analyze how cross-cultural competence influences English learning, confirming the promoting effects of the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions on English learning, providing empirical evidence for the reform of English education in universities.
