- Abstract
The present work aims to review the REE doping in DSSCs and focuses to explore on the charge transport dynamics in enhancing efficiency. REE doping provides better charge transportation by reducing electron quenching. This further leads to improvisation of Device and leads to higher quantum efficiency. REE doping leads to bandgap shifting and helps in utilizing UV/Visi and IR absorption of the solar spectrum through Down conversion (DC) and UC (up conversion) mechanism. Large ionic radii and unique electronic properties due to unfilled 4f orbitals contributes to the enhancement of better interplay between light and charge transportation. Re oxides can also be the future candidate of photovoltaics.
