Abstract

The existence of an Ecopark will impact not only to local employment but also give tourism revenue, environmental conservation, and potential long-term economic benefits to the community. Therefore, the research for identify direct and indirect value of an Ecopark is very important. This research aims to identify the direct and indirect value of the existence of the Digos Eco Park’s, to calculate the direct and indirect impacts of this Eco Park, and to know the benefit of this place for the tourist. This study located in one Ecopark in Philippine, Digos City Eco Park and Arboretum located in San Nicholas, Tres de Mayo Digos City. Analysis uses descriptive method and use both quantitative and qualitative. Visitor respondents chosen as many as 30 were taken by using purposive method. The types of data used primary and secondary data. The results of the research showed that the existence of Digos City Ecopark gave direct and indirect value such as tourist destination, health, erosion prevention, and water need. The calculated also found the total economic value (TEV) as many as PHP 4.251.458,80 in a year. and the Digos City Ecopark stands as a testament to the power of nature to unite people from all walks of life. Therefore, this place needs to be developed for families seeking quality time, students pursuing their academic interests.
