- Abstract
This research evaluates the economic feasibility of implementing an Integrated Farming System (IFS) for managing organic waste into biogas and bio-slurry in Pa’bumbungan Village, Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi. The system transforms organic waste, particularly livestock waste, into biogas for energy and bio-slurry as organic fertilizer. The study examines the availability of organic waste, the efficiency of biogas production, and the benefits of bio-slurry in enhancing agricultural productivity. The results show that the IFS reduces reliance on LPG, leading to cost savings, and increases crop yields through the use of bio-slurry, thereby boosting farmers’ income. Key economic indicators, including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period, confirm the financial viability of the project. Positive NPV and a high IRR indicate profitability, while the payback period suggests a reasonable time to recover the investment. Additionally, the project promotes environmental sustainability by lowering methane emissions and reducing chemical fertilizer use. Thus, the IFS offers a viable and eco-friendly solution for local economic improvement.
