Abstract

In the contemporary economic landscape characterized by variability, complexity, and ambiguity, SMEs face the dual challenges of high mortality rates and low growth rates. Consequently, enhancing the resilience of SMEs has become an urgent priority. The rapid development of digital inclusive finance offers essential financial resources and services that can significantly bolster the resilience of these enterprises. This paper examines the impact of digital inclusive finance on the resilience of manufacturing SMEs based on data from 1,207 firms listed on the New Third Board between 2015 and 2022. The findings indicate that advancements in financial development are conducive to improving the robustness of China’s SMEs. Specifically, this is achieved by alleviating financing constraints, fostering innovation levels, enhancing risk management capabilities, and ultimately increasing their capacity for resistance and recovery.
