Profitability Analysis of Dairy Cattle Farming Business After FMD Outbreak in Kampung Susu Lawu Plaosan District, Magetan Regency

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of dairy farmers and analyze the level of profitability of dairy cattle farming businesses. Post FMD outbreak in Kampung Susu Lawu (KSL). The study was conducted from January to March 2024, in Kampung Susu Lawu, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency, East Java. The location and sample were determined using the purposive sampling method. The sample in this study were 31 dairy farmers. The data analysis methods used in this study were qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. Qualitative descriptive analysis was used to describe the characteristics of dairy farmers in KSL, while quantitative analysis was used to analyze the profitability of dairy farming businesses. The results showed that the average profitability of dairy farming businesses in Kampung Susu Lawu before the FMD outbreak was IDR 39.549.550, while after outbreak was IDR 29,957,391, the level of profitability by 46.8%. The average value of the profitability ratio is TAT of 0.8 times, ROI of 24%, NPM of 32%, PPC for 4.1 years. The average value of the R/C ratio of the Kampung Susu Lawu dairy cattle business is 1.47. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the profitability value of the Kampung Susu Lawu dairy cattle business is already above the industry standard. Business efficiency based on the R/C Ratio is 1.47 or > 1, which means that the business is feasible to be developed.
