- Abstract
This study addresses the need to understand the drivers behind the adoption of Cost of Quality (CoQ) management in Morocco’s agrifood sector, emphasizing its relevance to competitiveness and sustainability. Employing qualitative analysis through semi-structured interviews and content analysis using NVivo 14 software, we identified key drivers, including cost efficiency, improved quality and customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, competitive advantage, sustainability awareness, financial justification, and performance monitoring. The findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of CoQ adoption in emerging markets and provide practical recommendations, such as establishing cost-tracking systems, integrating CoQ with regulatory and sustainability frameworks, leveraging digital tools, and promoting continuous training. The study also recommends stronger engagement from educational institutions to integrate CoQ principles into professional development and curricula.
