- Abstract
In the face of increasing urbanization and the growing frequency of emergencies, the resilience of public transport systems has become a critical component of effective emergency logistics. This study explores the role of public transport as a pillar of emergency logistics resilience in Grand Agadir, a rapidly developing urban region in Morocco. Through a qualitative case study, the research examines the existing public transport infrastructure, its integration into emergency response frameworks, and its capacity to enhance disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Data were collected via interviews with key stakeholders, document analysis, and field observations. The findings highlight the potential for leveraging public transport systems to improve urban resilience, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning, investment, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The study concludes with actionable recommendations for transforming public transport into a reliable backbone of emergency logistics, contributing to the sustainability and resilience of urban areas like Grand Agadir.
