Website: https://fe.ustjogja.ac.id/icobes/ The International Conference on Business, Economic, and Social Sustainability (ICOBES) 2025 is the inaugural international scholarly forum organized by the Master of Management Program, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The conference was held on November 25, 2025, in a hybrid format, conducted onsite at the Ki Sarino Hall, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, as well as online through virtual platforms, thereby enabling broad participation from the international academic and professional community. The organization of ICOBES 2025 was motivated by increasingly complex global dynamics, characterized by widening economic inequality, technological disruption, social unrest, environmental crises, and the growing urgency of sustainable development. These multidimensional challenges require critical academic responses, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative solutions capable of bridging business interests, economic systems, and social sustainability. In this context, ICOBES 2025 adopted the theme “Economic Grievances to Social Unrest: Shaping the Future of Business, Economic, and Social Sustainability,” which emphasizes the close interconnection between economic pressures, social dynamics, and the future direction of sustainability. As the first international conference of its kind, ICOBES 2025 holds strategic significance not only as a forum for scholarly dissemination but also as the foundation for establishing an annual international academic tradition within the Master of Management Program, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa. The conference was designed as an academic platform to bring together academics, researchers, students, practitioners, and policymakers from various countries to exchange ideas, present research findings, and build sustainable collaborative networks. The scope of ICOBES 2025 encompasses a wide range of strategic topics, including business sustainability, management and leadership, economic growth and development, social equity, organizational behavior, and human resource development. With the participation of speakers and contributors from Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, and Thailand, the conference facilitated rigorous academic discourse through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and paper presentations. Through this first volume of proceedings, ICOBES 2025 is expected to make a substantive contribution to the advancement of knowledge, professional practice, and the formulation of sustainable strategies in addressing contemporary global challenges. As the beginning of a long-term academic journey, ICOBES is planned to be held annually with the vision of becoming an inclusive international platform that strengthens global academic collaboration and reaffirms, in particular, the role of the Master of Management Program as an integral part of the international academic community committed to knowledge development, business innovation, and sustainability.
