- Abstract
This study focuses on highlighting how boudoir photography is perceived by Peruvian women as a transformative tool for the representation of their body and sensuality, collaborating significantly in the construction of their identity. It adopts a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design, focused on understanding the experiences of the women participating in these photographic sessions. The sample is made up of 14 women who have participated in at least one boudoir session. The results indicate that the participants consider that these photographic sessions become safe spaces, which strengthens self-esteem, empowerment, fight against stereotypes, etc. However, the importance of approaching this practice from an inclusive approach to avoid the reproduction of hegemonic standards of beauty is pointed out.
