Abstract

The study will examine the development of Peace Education Materials Based on Local Wisdom Values of North Sumatra Assisted by Augmented Reality (AR) to strengthen tolerance among junior high school students in Medan City. This development is considered crucial given the need for technology in education as a means to enhance students’ digital literacy in response to the Industry 4.0 revolution. The goal of this material development is not only to improve knowledge but also to enhance other aspects such as skills and attitudes (tolerance, responsibility, care, love for peace, empathy) as a form of internalization of values in students’ lives. The research method uses an R&D approach conducted in three stages: (1) preliminary study through literature review and field study; (2) development study with experts; and (3) trial of the Peace Education Materials Based on Local Wisdom Values of North Sumatra Assisted by Augmented Reality (AR).
