- Abstract
This article evaluates the impact of fine arts education through project-based learning in the interdisciplinary STEAM-based model (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) on enhancing cultural and social awareness among university students in Vietnam. The research addresses two main questions: (1) How does interdisciplinary fine arts education promote cultural and social awareness? (2) Can art projects based on the STEAM model develop students’ capacity for cultural understanding and social engagement? The study combines theoretical framework analysis, experimental teaching design, surveys, and student interviews to examine the effectiveness of this model. The findings show that, although students still face certain challenges with technological skills, limitations in structure, and limited time, the fine arts learning approach using interdisciplinary STEAM-based projects helps improve artistic expression skills, fosters critical thinking, and enhances connections with cultural and social values.
