Abstract

This paper looks into ways through which smarter governance will streamline adoption of green policies and enhance social adjustment in Indonesia. Among environmental issues, such as inefficient waste management, climate change, and uncontrolled urbanization, new governance methods that incorporate digital technologies, information-based decision-making, transparency, and stakeholder partnerships are needed. Through qualitative approach; this paper examines how government institutions, local communities as well as digital technologies relate towards environmental sustainability. The results indicate that smart governance positively influences policy responsiveness, participation in the policy by the population, and the capacity of the society to accommodate the change in the environment. E-campaigns and community action plans are also significant in making people more aware of the environment and make them act in a sustainable manner. Nevertheless, there are still a number of issues such as a gap in both digital access and digital coordination among agencies and inconsistent implementation of the policies in different regions. To mitigate these concerns, the present paper offers a proposed smart governance framework, a synthesis of digital innovation, collaborative governance, and inclusive environmental policies, as the proposal of a supportive policy against social adaptation. The paper finds that enhancing the institutional capacity, enhancing digital inclusion, and enhancing multi-stakeholder cooperation are the key ways to speed up the process of the Indonesian transition to sustainable development.
