- Abstract
Betawi culture results from the acculturation of several donor cultures that met in a melting pot in the Batavia area. Batik cloths worn as batik sarongs by Betawi women’s clothing are one of many expressions of the Betawi cultural identities. The batik tradition has been firmly attached to the Betawi community by using batik from the Javanese community. This study utilizes a design method based on research lead practice using an iconographic approach. The results of this study produced six proposed Betawi batik designs in a traditional style.
