Abstract

The advent of the experience economy, tourists’ demands for travel experiences have gradually increased, and the popularity of mountainous scenic areas continues to rise. Studying tourist experiences in such areas holds significant importance. This paper selects the Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area in Chengdu as the research subject, employing the “Octopus” data crawler and ROST CM6 word frequency analysis software to analyze online tourist data from the Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, aiming to further understand tourist demographics and behavioral preferences. The findings reveal that the scenic area has a considerable influence on Chengdu and nearby cities, with tourists showing the highest interest, and their visitation times are largely affected by seasonal factors. Overall, tourist experiences in the scenic area are generally positive. The ecological micro-landscape—fireflies—serves as the core attraction of the scenic area. Based on online evaluations of tourist experiences, relevant suggestions are proposed to promote the sustainable development of the scenic area.
