Abstract

With the popularization of the Internet and the rapid development of digital technology, cyberspace has become an important field for social interaction, information dissemination and power games. In this process, gender issues have become increasingly prominent. This study investigates the impact of the Internet on gender equality by analyzing the phenomenon of gender differences online. Drawing on a literature review and case studies, the research highlights the dual role of the Internet in shaping gender dynamics. On one hand, the Internet provides opportunities for women to access information, participate in social movements, and challenge traditional gender roles. On the other hand, it also promotes the antagonism and contradiction between the sexes, highlighting the traditional gender concept. The findings suggest that while the Internet has the potential to be a powerful tool for gender equality, significant challenges remain. These include online harassment, gender-biased algorithms, and the underrepresentation of women in digital industries and discourse. Future research should focus on developing strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of the Internet on gender relations and harness its potential to create a more inclusive digital space.
