Abstract

This study investigates the co-construction of “Green Party Building” and nature education bases in Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, China, to explore how integrating party activities with ecological education can enhance ecological awareness and governance capacity at the grassroots level. Nature education, which includes ecological conservation, environmental awareness campaigns, and environmental practices, has gained widespread attention as ecological civilization construction progresses. Leveraging its unique natural resources, Qianxinan Prefecture has developed an ecological economy and promoted ecological civilization by integrating Party building with ecological protection.

The study finds that the establishment of 26 multi-level nature education bases, including 12 provincial models, has engaged over 23,000 Party members, significantly raising grassroots satisfaction by 11.2%. The “Nature Education + Party Building” model has improved governance efficacy, with a 76.8% excellence rate in cadre assessments and a 40% increase in vegetation coverage in rocky desertification areas. The institutionalized “Party Building + Ecology” joint conference mechanism has resolved 127 ecological protection vs. development conflicts annually, with a 91% success rate, and has been codified into provincial regulations.

These achievements demonstrate the dual effectiveness of integrating “Green Party Building” with nature education in internalizing ecological awareness and building governance capacity. The study concludes that this integrated approach not only contributes to local ecological civilization construction but also provides a reference model for other regions to follow in their pursuit of sustainable development and ecological governance.
