Abstract

Building a maritime power is a strategic support for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and has profound significance for safeguarding national economic security, maritime rights and interests, and sustainable ecological development. Postgraduate training, as the core vehicle for cultivating high-end maritime talents, urgently needs to embed national strategic demands into the academic innovation ability training system. At present, the cultivation of high-level maritime talents in China still faces three major challenges: insufficient cultivation of strategic awareness, lagging technological penetration, and weak interdisciplinary integration. This study, targeting the significant strategic demands of building a maritime power, constructs a new paradigm for postgraduate training that emphasizes “equal importance of moral education and capability building, a solid foundation combined with strong practice, interdisciplinary integration with innovation, and mutual promotion between industry-university-research cooperation and outcomes.” Through teaching reform measures such as curriculum restructuring, academic community building, and integration of practice platforms, this research focuses on cultivating strategic maritime science and technology talents with a sense of national commitment, a forward-looking vision, and interdisciplinary innovation capabilities, thereby providing core intellectual support for the construction of a maritime power.
