Abstract

The Z-generation’s digital literacy and speech politeness in the context of the 5.0 Society era are a reflection of digital development across all sectors, including higher education. Digital literacy and speech politeness of The Z-generation towards the 5.0 society era are examined through stages that encompass (1) introduction; (2) objectives; (3) implementation; (4) steps; (5) materials; (6) references; and (7) assessment and final evaluation. The research subjects are 444 students from the Faculty of Economics, consisting of 270 students from the Management program, 154 students from the Accounting program, and 20 students from the Agribusiness program who were taking the Indonesian Language course. This descriptive statistical research collected the data through Google Forms. The research results show that the planning aspect is 57.8%; the implementation aspect is 51.21%; and the evaluation aspect is 54.7%. The results of this study indicate that digital literacy and speech politeness are implemented in a balanced manner between planning, implementation, and evaluation. This shows a balance between increased digital literacy and the improvement in speech politeness. Balance occurs between knowledge and skills, as well as between theory and practice, in enhancing digital literacy and speech politeness for The Z-generation in the era of society 5.0.
