- Background
HIV/AIDS threatens young people in Indonesia, 20.8% of young people between 15 and 24 years old have been infected. Comprehensive knowledge, positive attitudes, and positive perceptions about preventing HIV/AIDS are needed, so that young people have good practices to prevent HIV/AIDS. The method used in this research is quantitative using a cross-sectional approach, the sample used was 112 people studying at a private university in Semarang City, which was determined using a proportional random sampling technique. As a result, more research subjects had good knowledge, positive attitudes, and positive perceptions, and there was a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of HIV/AIDS prevention practices carried out by young people. In conclusion, Knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions together have a strong relationship with prevention practices carried out by young people.
