- Abstract
The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has profoundly impacted various industries, with the cultural sector emerging as a pivotal area where AI’s influence is particularly notable. The cultural industry, encompassing art, design, media, and entertainment, inherently values creativity and innovation, making it a prime candidate for AI integration. This paper empirically investigates the impact of AI on innovation efficiency within the cultural industry, focusing on the interplay between human capital and financing constraints. By analyzing a sample of A-share listed cultural enterprises in China from 2010 to 2023, the study finds that AI significantly enhances the innovation efficiency of these firms. Furthermore, the complementary relationship between AI and human capital is underscored, revealing that skilled labor amplifies the benefits of AI adoption. However, financing constraints pose a significant barrier, impeding the full realization of AI’s innovative potential.
