Abstract

The development of technology and education in the 21st century is requiring an increase in students’ critical thinking skills, specifically in the implementation of Science (IPA) learning. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Construct 2 learning media in improving students’ critical thinking skills. One of the factors inhibiting students currently is low critical thinking skills, promoting schools to provide media that can help students develop significantly. In this context, Construct 2 media was used due to its ability in providing assistance to develop students’ critical thinking skills. Furthermore, a two-group quasi-experimental design was also carried out in this research. The calculation results showed a significance value of 0.000 with t count of 3.549 indicating that there was a difference in the mean before and after the implementation of learning with Construct 2 media. The results of N-Gain score test further showed value of 0.33 or 33%, which was included in the medium category, indicating the use of Construct 2 media could significantly improve students’ critical thinking skills..
