- Abstract
Korean Pop Music’s popularity has been on the rise in the recent decade. As the influence of K-pop on people of this age increases, there has been more research on the marketing and promotional strategies of different K-pop groups, to investigate their paths to success and their increasing influential abilities. This paper aims to study how the modern concepts of K-pop groups help them to engage their target audiences, and the impact it brings to the community and the world, using the case studies of the 3 most popular K-pop girl groups of today, aespa, NewJeans and IVE. Through analysing their vastly different concepts by looking deeply into their musical styles, performances and visual arts, this paper concludes on how these 3 groups manages to curate their image and bring their influences to the industry, and reflects on how K-pop can survive and further thrive in the globalised and ever-changing world of entertainment, by constantly introducing and promoting novelty in the industry.
