The 2025 4th International Conference on Science Education and Art Appreciation (SEAA 2025) was successfully held in Chengdu, China, from June 20 to 22, 2025. As an interdisciplinary platform at the confluence of science education and art appreciation, the conference once again demonstrated its unique capacity to bring together educators, researchers, and artists from across the globe to exchange insights, disseminate new findings, and foster collaboration across domains that are often perceived as disparate but are inherently complementary in cultivating holistic human understanding.

This year’s SEAA featured a series of inspiring keynote speeches that not only reflected the breadth of topics encompassed by the conference but also exemplified the deep integration of theory and practice. Prof. Li Liu from Sichuan Film and Television University opened the conference by sharing the “double-high” model for cultivating application-oriented talent in drama and film studies, emphasizing a synergy between education and industry. Prof. Xiaorong Zhao, also from Sichuan Film and Television University, explored the evolving trajectory of broadcasting education under the dual imperatives of innovation and tradition. Prof. Yu Sun from Yunnan Normal University presented an intelligent evaluation system for interactive teaching in smart classrooms, underscoring the role of educational technology in real-time learning assessment. Finally, Prof. Chengqing Zhao from Sichuan University offered a thought-provoking exploration of arboreal symbolism in Chinese art history, situating it within broader political and global discourses. These diverse keynotes not only highlighted cutting-edge research but also pointed toward emerging paradigms in both education and the arts.

The scope of SEAA 2025 spanned a wide array of research areas. In science education, scholars examined foundational issues such as pedagogy and curriculum theory, educational psychology, and vocational education, while also addressing technological innovation, special pedagogy, and educational models across different age groups and contexts. Meanwhile, contributions from the art and humanities disciplines engaged deeply with the theoretical and practical dimensions of visual and performing arts, broadcasting, literature, aesthetic theory, and cultural heritage. This intersectional approach reinforced the conference’s commitment to encouraging dialogues that cross disciplinary boundaries and reflect the complexities of contemporary educational and artistic practice.

SEAA 2025 received 188 submissions from researchers and practitioners representing a range of institutions and regions. After a rigorous peer review process, 72 papers were accepted for inclusion in the proceedings, ensuring both academic quality and topical relevance. The conference welcomed over 100 participants, whose engagement throughout the sessions fostered a vibrant and collaborative intellectual atmosphere.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all contributors—authors, reviewers, keynote speakers, and attendees—whose efforts made SEAA 2025 a meaningful and impactful academic event. It is our hope that the research presented herein will continue to inform and inspire future investigations at the rich intersection of science education and art appreciation.
