- Abstract
The Guizhou Provincial Museum houses a diverse and abundant collection of paper-based cultural relics. The preservation and restoration of these paper artifacts constitute a critical aspect of the museum’s responsibilities. Central to this work is the emphasis on preventive conservation, alongside the continuous advancement and exploration of new technologies. By systematically summarizing and integrating traditional techniques with modern methodologies, the craftsmanship involved in paper relic preservation can be both revitalized and enhanced. Furthermore, the protection of paper-based relics must align with their collection and utilization practices to ensure the enduring transmission of their cultural and historical value.
