Abstract

The organizations are focused on adopting sustainable framework that addresses global challenges, including environmental, social, and economic issues. Therefore, the study proposes a framework for enhancing the sustainability of organizations. The study examines the relationship among responsible leadership, Organizational Citizenship Behaviour towards Environment (OCBE), and sustainability. The study employed Hayes Process Macro Model 4 to analyze the responses received from 504 IT professionals. The study analyzes the mediating role of OCBE in the relationship between responsible leadership and sustainability and concludes it to be significantly positive. The study concludes that responsible leadership impacts OCBE, which in turn positively impacts sustainability. The study discusses the synergetic impact of responsible leadership and OCBE on sustainability of an organization, highlighting the role of proactive productive and highly engaged employees. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers that seek to cultivate a workforce committed to enhance sustainability, that enables organization to contribute towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
