- Abstract
In 2015, every UN member state agreed to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It provides a shared plan for world peace and wealth for all people, now and in the future. This plan is based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for all developed and emerging countries to work together as a global team. The present research paper has attempted to find the interlink between the concerns and interests of business organizations and sustainable development. The paper also examines the whole progression of CSR as it has moved from a purely humanitarian into something more complex with ecological, social and economic dimensions. The research paper would look at these foundational factors in order to demonstrate how firms deploy CSR and by doing so not only indirectly supporting the UN SDGs but at the same time, fulfilling secular moral obligations, and thus making things overall more just and strong across global economies. If we want to address critical and pressing sustainability challenges the entire planet is facing right now, then CSR is required to be a core part of company planning so that these efforts can make this planet a safer place to reside.
