- Abstract
This study investigated the factors contributing to job-related stress among hotel housekeepers and explored their influence on both job stress and job satisfaction within this specific occupational context. A conceptual model was empirically tested using sample data of 550 hotel housekeeping employees. The study revealed that high job stress resulted in low job satisfaction levels among hotel housekeeping staff. Furthermore, performance pressure, role ambiguity, and workload antecedents were found to be the main reasons behind job stress. However, the study determined that the correlation between work-life balance and job stress was statistically insignificant. The study offers valuable insights to stakeholders for improving employee well-being and organisational effectiveness. This includes organisational interventions targeting job stressors, training on stress management, support services like counselling, and fostering a positive workplace culture, which are essential for enhancing job satisfaction among hotel housekeepers.
