Abstract

This study aims to determine Mathematical Reasoning Abilities Through Artificial Intelligence Symbolab on The Topic of Systems of Linear Inequalities in Two Variables. The subjects of the study were class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using observation, test, and interview data collection techniques. In analyzing data from observation, the researcher will create a short description based on the results of interviews or field notes; in analyzing test data the researcher will create a description of the subject’s ability in mathematical reasoning, and in analyzing interview data the researcher will transcribe the results of the interview into written form. The results of the research shows that the implementation of Artificial Intelligence Symbolab to the material on two-variable linear inequality systems can develop students’ mathematical reasoning abilities. This can be seen from students being able to present mathematical statements in writing through mathematical models, putting forward several conjectures in the answers, conduct mathematical manipulations using AI Symbolab, compiling evidence or reasons for some of the correctness of the solutions to the conjectures put forward and drawing up conclusion from the steps that have been conducted.
