Abstract

This study aims to analyze digital ecoliteracy capabilities. Students with case study learning based on Questioning, Answering, Sharing and Evaluation (QASE) on peat ecosystem material, was implemented in the PMIPA FKIP Universitas Riau Department in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, with 80 respondents taking the Environmental Science and Disaster Mitigation course. Data collection using The instrument is a closed questionnaire with a linkert scale (4 scales). The research parameters are digital ecoliteracy skills. Students with 8 indicators consisting of 5 digital literacy indicators, namely: Functional Skill and Beyond, Collaboration, Communication, The Ability To Find and Select Information, E-Safety. 3 indicators of digital ecoliteracy, the combination of ecoliteracy and digital literacy consists of 3 indicators, namely indicators; 1.Creativity and values and characters, 2.Cultural and Social Understanding, 3. Critical Thinking and Evaluation. The data obtained in the form of scores, converted into values (N), and analyzed descriptively. The results of students’ digital ecoliteracy abilities in class A obtained an average value of 77.5 (Very good category), in class B with an average value of 83,5 (very good category). Of the 8 indicators in both classes, the highest digital ecoliteracy ability is Creativity with values of 85 and 88 respectively. The E-Safety indicator with values of 78 and 83. The lowest value was obtained in the Critical Thinking and Evaluation indicator, both in both classes, each with a value of 75 categorized as good. Conclusion, Mitigation of peatland ecosystem disasters through case study learning based on the QASE method, shows that digital literacy is categorized as very good. Digital ecoliteracy with the level of student understanding is categorized as very good in environmental literacy, but caring, participation and environmental preservation are categorized as less good. Students understand and solve problems using various strategies and are able to work smoothly, carefully, structured and systematically, however, they still have difficulty in achieving solutions to aspects of novelty, especially learning outcomes in environmental participation in second semester students of PMIPA FKIP- Universitas Riau, 2023- 2024 academic year.
