- Abstract
The development of the 21st century world is marked by the use of ICT in all aspects of life. One of the uses of the internet for learning innovation that can facilitate student lectures is by utilizing blended learning. Blended learning is a combination of various training media (technology, activities, and types of events) that can be a solution to continue implementing teaching and learning activities in higher education using different learning platforms and applications. This is intended to achieve the ultimate goal of mathematics learning, which is to help students understand various mathematical concepts and apply them in everyday life. However, as mathematics learning develops, it often only becomes an activity of memorizing formulas and does not change based on real-world situations in the form of the culture around students. This has an impact on students who do not yet have a holistic understanding of mathematical concepts and often experience difficulties when faced with mathematical problems in different situations. To overcome these problems, there needs to be a role for culture in improving mathematical abilities. An innovation that connects mathematics learning skills and culture is the use of ethnomathematics in higher education. The implementation of ethnomathematics based blended learning in higher education shows great potential in improving the quality of mathematics learning. This approach not only develops students’ cognitive skills but also encourages them to appreciate local culture. The integration of technology in culture-based learning opens up opportunities for further innovation in mathematics education.
