- Abstract
This research is design research with the type of study development. This research aims to determine the validity of STEM-based learning activities measurement using the context of playing balloons for early childhood. The developed activities consist of four activities, namely blowing up balloons, comparing the size and weight of the balloons by hand, proving the size and weight of balloons using non-standard measurement instruments, and drawing. As well as continuing to consider the steps in STEM learning, namely problem identification, problem analysis, designing ideas and solution design, testing designs, and communication. The developed activities were validated by 5 experts with expertise in STEM, RME and early childhood education. Data was collected using questionnaires and documentation. The research results show that the produced activities are categorized as valid based on comments and suggestions from experts as well as calculation results using the Aiken’s v index which is categorized as high validity. Balloon play activities can be a solution to learning measurements for early childhood.
