- Abstract
This study addresses the identified research gap regarding the need for more empirical investigations into prevalent considerations for social enterprises aimed at achieving sustainability beyond financial metrics. Utilizing single case study method with a qualitative approach, this research examines a prominent social enterprise as an informant to explore these issues within a real-world context. Exploring non-financial factors became evident that certain themes, while possessing financial attributes, fundamentally grounded in the strategic management practices of the enterprise. The results reveal six important themes that fulfill the purpose of the study: independent financial strength, proper investment, strategic networking, sustainable growth practices, impactful social mission, and recognition. These themes, thus, broaden the understanding of factors that contribute to the enterprise long-term viability in literature and offer actionable insights for social enterprises to strategically optimize their operations, which directly enhances their sustainability.
