The 9th Terengganu International Business and Economics Conference 2025 (TiBEC IX) was a virtual conference held in Terengganu, Malaysia, from 15–17 April 2025. TiBEC was first launched in 2008. Since it was a tremendous success, the organiser held eight more conferences to better understand issues in the business and economics disciplines.

TiBEC IX gathers scholars, industry experts, policymakers, and students to share insights and explore innovations that will shape the future of economic development and sustainable business practices. In an era characterized by digital transformation, evolving global markets, and the need for responsible growth, TiBEC IX is a hub for exploring emerging trends and discussing practical strategies for resilience and inclusivity. TiBEC IX emphasizes sustainable, inclusive, and data-driven economic policy and business management approaches in an interconnected world.

TiBEC IX was opened with the conference workshop on 15 April 2025. Three parallel sessions were conducted: Parallel Sessions 1 and 2 on 16 April 2025, whereas the keynote session took precedence over Parallel Sessions 3 (17 April 2025). The keynote speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saran Sarntisart is a distinguished economist and academic, currently serving as an associate professor at the Graduate School of Development Economics, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand. As the Shariah Advisory Committee for the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives and the Centre for Muslim World Policies at Chulalongkorn University, he is the right person to scrutinise the “building resilient economies and inclusive growth in the Digital Age: Harnessing smart digitalisation for sustainable business” topic. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saran emphasized four strategies for a resilient economy: strengthening diversified economic sectors, building strong and transparent institutions, promoting innovation and technological advancements, and investing in infrastructure and sustainability.

TiBEC IX would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of the authors who submitted their work and the tireless efforts of our peer reviewers, who provided valuable feedback and ensured the quality of the contributions. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them for their dedication and expertise. We also acknowledge the invaluable support of the organising committee, the sponsors, and the host institution, whose combined efforts were instrumental in making the conference a resounding success.

Thank you for being a part of TiBEC IX. May this event be a stepping stone toward greater scholarly achievements and a source of inspiration for our academic pursuits.
