Abstract

In recent years, station design has gradually tended to develop in the direction of cultural stations. The design of many stations is no longer just satisfied with basic functions but has begun to incorporate local cultural characteristics. Suizhou South Station As a key passenger station on the Han-shi high-speed railroad line, its design skillfully integrates the ginkgo cultural characteristics of the Suizhou region and is committed to providing travelers with a transportation experience with local cultural characteristics. The presentation of local cultural characteristics and symbolic icons through careful design and building techniques became an aspect to be considered in the design process of the modern building. Suizhou South Station visually presents the natural form of the ginkgo tree through the design of the 24-unit structure and the golden-colored ETFE membrane covering the surface, which not only demonstrates the characteristics of bionic and cultural metaphor architecture but also adopts a new non-cast steel bifurcation node design to optimize the structural load-bearing capacity and safety. Through the application of BIM and 3D scanning technology, in-depth research and innovative application of new materials and technologies were realized, finally creating a transportation hub that is both modern and contains deep cultural heritage.
