- Abstract
This paper delves into the reform of “American Literature History” teaching within the context of smart education, highlighting the new model and its effect in the course teaching. The study addresses the prevalent challenge of student disinterest in the subject, leveraging the rise of smart education to propose a reformative teaching model. Specifically, the “Two Lines, Three Phases, and Seven Is” teaching model is introduced, grounded in the principles of Constructivism and Holistic Education Theory. An empirical research design involving two classes of English major juniors was conducted, utilizing pre- and post-questionnaires and statistical analysis. Results revealed a significant enhancement in students’ interest in American Literature History and reading, affirming the model’s effectiveness. This study contributes to the understanding of how smart education can rejuvenate traditional literature courses, fostering an engaging and effective learning environment.
