Abstract

In today’s rapidly evolving society, influenced by the internet, every field is heading towards diversified development, including art and design education. At the same time, private universities in China have witnessed a rapid growth in their art and design programs. However, these programs face significant challenges and constraints in terms of talent cultivation, curriculum design, and teaching methods. To promote innovative development in private university art and design majors, this study utilizes literature analysis and questionnaire surveys to comprehensively explore the current status and potential issues of this field, and proposes relevant educational innovation strategies. The research findings indicate that private universities, represented by Shanghai JianQiao University, should focus on clarifying training objectives, optimizing curriculum resources, and innovating teaching methods to enrich talent cultivation models, establish distinctive curriculum systems, and explore diverse teaching approaches. These efforts will enhance the quality of talent cultivation and promote the connotative and specialized diversified development of art and design majors. This study provides theoretical support and practical guidance for promoting innovation in private university art and design education.
