- Abstract
This study seeks to investigate the primary factors that affect Chinese college students’ intentions to adhere to school network security protocols, particularly emphasizing the influence of information security awareness, attitudes, and perceived costs. A questionnaire survey was administered to undergraduates at Shandong P College using a convenient sampling method, and data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings indicated that information security awareness, positive attitudes, and accurate assessments of compliance costs significantly influenced students’ intentions to comply with cybersecurity measures. Furthermore, non-compliance with cybersecurity regulations can lead to increased security risks for personal resources. The results of this study offer empirical evidence that supports educational institutions in formulating more effective cybersecurity policies.
