- Abstract
This paper examines the approaches to quality assurance in e-Learning from a systemic perspective. To address this complex topic, we analyze general higher education quality frameworks, international quality assurance frameworks and specific distance education quality frameworks. To do so, we focus on the five pillars of quality established by the Online Learning Consortium and the Moroccan National Quality Framework. A systematic literature review reveals the evolution of quality assurance methods toward more flexible, data-driven, and stakeholder-responsive systems. The analysis shows that e-learning evaluation requires a holistic approach integrating pedagogy, technology, and student satisfaction. Current frameworks increasingly incorporate artificial intelligence and context-sensitive metrics.
