- Abstract
The Material Mechanics course is a cornerstone of engineering education, providing professionals with the critical skills necessary for the analysis and design of structures, thereby ensuring their safety and optimal performance. However, some undergraduates exhibit a deficiency in enthusiasm for this course, which consequently results in suboptimal learning outcomes.
This research adopts a multifaceted teaching strategy, blending in-class instruction, out-of-class application, and extracurricular competitive activities, to investigate the integration of ideological and political education into the Material Mechanics curriculum. The intent is to foster a comprehensive advancement of students’ academic knowledge, technical proficiency, and moral character, thereby refining their professional ethos and practical engineering skills. This tripartite educational framework not only solidifies students’ grasp of theoretical concepts but also motivates them to apply their knowledge and develop a spirit of competition. This approach is designed to create a more stimulating and interactive learning atmosphere, which is essential for nurturing well-rounded specialists in the domain of material mechanics.
