- Abstract
Marine engine room simulators are essential tools in maritime education for developing students’ practical skills, emergency response capabilities, and decision-making abilities. However, current evaluation methods are inadequate in effectively assessing students’ overall competency. This paper proposes a competency-based evaluation system for practical teaching, using multidimensional assessment criteria to quantitatively evaluate students’ operational skills, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making capabilities. First, the key indicators were identified based on the competency model. Determining the weights through expert scoring and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). A comprehensive evaluation model was constructed by integrating various assessment dimensions using a combination of game theory methods. The effectiveness of this system was validated through case analysis. The results indicate that this evaluation system more accurately reflects students’ overall performance, providing a reference for optimizing engine room simulator teaching.
