Abstract

The advent of artificial intelligence has transformed people’s production and lifestyle while opening new avenues for effective English instruction in higher education. With AI support, students gain access to more English learning resources, technologies, and methods, enabling personalized learning experiences that advance their English thinking and proficiency. This study focuses on the AI-empowered perspective, first analyzing the challenges faced by personalized learning models in university English education and interpreting the compatibility between AI and such models. Simultaneously, it explores practical pathways for AI-empowered personalized learning in university English education across four dimensions: big data-driven approaches, intelligent platforms, interactive systems, and precise evaluation.
