- Abstract
This paper present a simulation based performance evaluation of a 5.45 kWp grid-connected rooftop photovoltaic system intended for a coastal urban location in Mumbai, India. The system was modeled using PVsyst 8.0.20 with Meteonorm 8.2 climatic data. The site receives an annual global horizontal irradiations of 1813.8 kWh/m2 resulting in generation of 7518 kWh of energy generation and 5058.5 delivered to the grid. The overall performance ratio is 0.686, indicating stable operation in coastal urban areas. Seasonal variation shows lower output during monsoon season due to lower irradiation. According to Loss analysis, thermal effects are the most important performance-limiting factor. The results demonstrate the technical feasibility and reliable performance of rooftop solar PV systems.
