Conducting Polymer Polyaniline, TiO2, and PVA Nanocomposite Film Performance in DC Conductivity

- Abstract
A nanocomposite film was developed using nano-anatase TiO2 (50nm) and the conducting polymer polyaniline (PANI) via in-situ polymerization. The chemical oxidative polymerization technique was used for the synthesis process of PANI in HCl acidic medium. To develop nanocomposite PANI-TiO2 film, low- and high-molecular-weight Poly Vinyl Alcohol (PVA) was used. It is observed that low-molecular-weight PVA films can be easily synthesized and exhibit high DC conductivity due to the formation of a PVA foam during synthesis. Conversely, high-molecular-weight PVA posed challenges in development and resulted in lower DC conductivity. Importantly, in both cases, the DC conductivity remained linear, confirming the consistency of the results.
