- Abstract
This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) models in teaching economics within the Merdeka curriculum, employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with secondary data. A total of 25 selected journals were analyzed based on previous research findings and used as data by the researcher. The analysis results indicated that PBL is a highly effective model that meets the requirements of the independent curriculum, enhancing cognitive abilities, learning outcomes, critical and creative thinking skills, confidence, learning motivation, and student engagement in high school settings. Future research on the PBL model in high school economics is recommended to expand the sample to provide a more comprehensive understanding of its effectiveness in economics education.
