- Abstract
To address the issues of weak connection between operating system experiments and theoretical knowledge, as well as superficial practical training, this study proposes an Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-oriented teaching reform plan for operating system kernel development. The reform aims to enhance students’ system capabilities and was first implemented in an “Outstanding Engineer” class. The results show a significant increase in students’ self-motivation and enthusiasm for learning theoretical concepts. They successfully completed challenging OS kernel development projects, achieving better performance than previous cohorts, with some students even winning awards in competitions. The practice has proven the effectiveness of the teaching approach.
