Abstract

This study investigates the application of DeepSeek, an AI-powered writing tool, in higher education, with a focus on its impact on students’ writing abilities and the challenges faced by educators in teaching practices. Anchored in technological feasibility theory, this case study examines the nuanced role of AI writing tools in improving surface-level fluency while exposing their insufficiency in cultivating higher-order thinking and ethical authorship practices. The findings provide valuable insights for educational institutions seeking to integrate AI tools into writing instruction effectively.
