- Abstract
Many studies have tried improving students’ problem-solving skills through the Project-Based Learning model on the circle topic. However, only some research results examine efforts to improve students’ problem-solving skills of the circle concept, especially by utilizing the GeoGebra-integrated Project-Based Learning model. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of GeoGebra-integrated Project-Based Learning in improving students’ problem-solving skills on the circle topic. To answer the purpose of the study, the researchers compared the GeoGebra-integrated Project-Based Learning (GeoPjBL) with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and conventional models. The research method used was quasi-experimental quantitative research with a non-equivalent control group design involving as many as 94 students in a private junior high school in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data analysis techniques used Normalized Gain (N-Gain) Score, Cohen’s d Effect-Size, and Descriptive Statistics. The results show that the GeoGebra-integrated Project-Based Learning is more effective in improving students’ problem-solving skills on the circle topic than the Project-Based Learning and the conventional models. The study results can be an alternative innovative mathematics learning model for teachers, as a training reference for stakeholders, and for education to welcome learning based on information and communication technology (ICT) in the 21st century.
