Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the Inquiry learning model in chemistry practicum on the learning outcomes of senior high school (SMA/MA) students. A meta-analysis approach was employed, utilizing a narrative review of published research articles that specifically examine the effect of the Inquiry model in chemistry practicum on student learning outcomes. The study population consisted of articles indexed in SINTA. Article selection was conducted using the keywords “inquiry model,” “chemistry practicum,” and “learning outcomes.” The sampling process followed four stages: (1) identification (n = 1116), (2) screening (n = 1089), (3) eligibility assessment (n = 15), and (4) final selection of relevant journal articles (n = 5). The findings indicate that five selected journal articles met the inclusion criteria. Based on effect size analysis and the level of inquiry applied in chemistry learning, the learning outcomes of SMA/MA students were classified as moderate. Similarly, the impact of the Inquiry model on students’ learning outcomes in chemistry was found to be of moderate significance. The level of inquiry in the analyzed studies was categorized as follows: four studies at Level 2 and one study at Level 1. These findings suggest that the Inquiry learning model in chemistry practicum has a measurable influence on the learning outcomes of SMA/MA students.
