Abstract

The achievement of students’ academic achievement in basic education is an important indicator of the success of the education system. However, low learning independence among students is often an obstacle to achieving optimal academic results. This study aims to explore the influence of learning independence on the academic achievement of students at SD Inpres Sibena I. Using a quantitative approach with a census design, data were collected from the entire student population in the school, namely 85 students. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression to evaluate the relationship between learning independence and academic achievement. The results showed that learning independence had a significant positive influence on students’ academic achievement, even after controlling for other variables such as motivation and self-efficacy. These findings emphasize the importance of developing learning independence as the main strategy in an effort to improve student learning outcomes. The implication of this study is the need to implement learning strategies that support learning independence and the development of educational policies that focus on improving the quality of basic education through learning independence.
